Economics is inextricably linked with politics. Those who argue otherwise are themselves adopting an ideological position.

In reality there is no such thing as a totally ‘free market’ outside of the jungle. Actions that can harm others need to be regulated for the greater good, like pollution and money creation.

Had we had greater regulation of the financial markets we wouldn’t have had the Great Recession in 2007-8, and a lopsided economy that gives too much power to the financial sector.

I’m keen to see the economy serve the mass of the population rather than a small elite. This section will cover things such as ‘QE for the people’ instead of the banks.
